You are going to the Danube for the first time and want the standard set — Vienna, the Wachau, Salzburg — with somebody else holding the tickets. Seventeen included activities across seven nights works out at two and a half a day, which sounds relentless and mostly is not: a river day tends to run one morning excursion, an afternoon of sailing, and something in the evening if you want it.
You want Salzburg specifically. It is the day the itinerary leads with, and it is a long coach from the river — the kind of transfer that is easy to resent when you arranged it yourself and easy to accept when it is simply the day’s programme.
You are travelling as a couple and neither of you wants to be the one who planned it. This is the cruise for that couple.
Leave it if
You want unstructured port days. Included activities are not compulsory, but a week with seventeen of them sets a tone, and the ship will feel empty at eleven in the morning in a way that suggests you are missing something.
You need 2027 dates. The fare closes October 24th, one day after this was checked, and the listing gives no departure dates at all. If your calendar is not clear for the next few months, this is not your offer and no amount of discount makes it one.
You are travelling with young children, or anyone who needs a lift at every port. River ships are small and the coaches are coaches.

The honest middle
$504 a night sits in the middle of this board’s river fares: below the two Avalon sailings at $618 and $679, and above nothing much. What you buy at that price is Scenic’s version of the Danube rather than the cheapest version of it, and the difference shows up in inclusions the listing does not itemise.
The promo is the loose end. The feed offers a further $200 off with code BOOST26, which would take the fare to $3,329, or $476 a night. Promo codes on cruise fares frequently do not stack with a headline saving, and sometimes they apply only to particular departures. Ask. It is a $200 question and a two-minute one.
Book on the price, watch the calendar. If the code stacks and a departure exists that you can take, this is the best-value week of the two Scenic offers here. If it does not, it is still a fair price for a seven-night Danube cruise with the activities already paid for — and a fair price is not the same thing as a bargain worth rearranging a year for.
