Scenic’s 10-Day Danube: $5,170, nine nights, one day to book
The longer of the two Scenic offers here behaves most like a Scenic cruise: slow, overnight-heavy, and priced for it.

- A better itinerary than the Gems cruise and a worse price per night at $574, with one day to decide — that is a decision about a cruise line, not a bargain.

Who takes the booking
Scenic is both the operator and the seller on this listing, which is the cleanest arrangement on the board: no consolidator, no wholesaler’s markup buried in the fare. The price you see is the cruise line’s, and the terms you agree to are the line’s too. The trade is that there is nobody to escalate to if the cabin is not what you pictured.
The booking closes October 24th. On the date this was checked, that is one day.
What they’re known for
Scenic built its reputation on the Danube and the Rhine with a fleet of small ships and a position above the mainstream river lines: fewer passengers, more included, a higher fare. This itinerary is written to that reputation — “leisurely paced”, overnights in Budapest, Linz and Nuremberg, and nine nights on a river most operators cover in seven.
The overnights are what to notice. A river cruise that stays put for the night in three cities is a different product from one that sails at dinner: you get the evening in town rather than in the lounge, and the ship becomes a hotel for a day.
That is a reading of the itinerary, not a description of the vessel. The listing names no ship, no cabin categories, no inclusion list.
Three overnights are the thing to notice. The ship becomes a hotel for a day.
How this offer sits in their range
Scenic’s other offer on this board is the eight-day Gems of the Danube at $3,529, or $504 a night. This one is $5,170, or $574 — 14 per cent more per night for two extra nights and three city overnights. On arithmetic alone the shorter cruise is the better buy. On itinerary, the longer one is the reason to pick Scenic over a cheaper line.
The $1,000 saving is 16 per cent against a $6,170 comparison, the smallest percentage cut of any river cruise here and the largest absolute saving on a nine-night fare. Both statements are true, and neither is the point. $574 a night is what the cruise costs.
The promo code is the loose end: a further $200 with BOOST26 would take it to $4,970, or $552 a night. Ask whether it stacks with the headline saving. On a fare this size, $200 is a rounding error with a marketing budget attached.
What we can’t tell you
Whether drinks, gratuities and transfers are included. For a line positioned where Scenic is, the answer is usually yes to most of it — but usually is not a contract, and the gap between an all-inclusive river fare and one with a bar bill attached is several hundred dollars a week.
Which cabin $5,170 buys. A lowest-deck cabin with a fixed window and a mid-ship suite are not the same product, and only one of them is being advertised.
Whether “leisurely pace” means fewer excursions or longer ones. Nine nights with three overnights suggests the former. The listing does not say, and it is the single question worth asking before committing to a fare that closes tomorrow.
