- The largest percentage cut of any cruise here, with excursions included and a fixed spring itinerary — the one thing you cannot buy is certainty about the bloom.
From the operator’s listing for offer 27882, checked Oct 23. A from-price, not a quote — the operator’s page carries the live one.
The numbers, as listed
Eight days and seven nights in Belgium and the Netherlands, from $4,326 against a comparison rate of $5,826. That is $1,500, or 26 per cent, and $618 a night. The sailing is in April 2027 and the fare has to be booked by November 7th. Keukenhof is the anchor: the gardens open for roughly eight weeks each spring and the cruise is built to land inside that window.
There is also an air option — choose air or take the $1,500 — which is the same either/or as Avalon’s festive Danube, and the same rule applies. It is one benefit, not two.
What the saving is, and isn’t
Twenty-six per cent is the largest cut of any cruise on this board, measured against the operator’s own comparison rate. What makes it hold up better than a percentage usually does is the excursions: on a seven-night Dutch sailing, options in each port are the line item that would otherwise arrive as a series of small charges — a garden transfer, a city walk, a cheese farm — none of them large, all of them adding up.
What the percentage does not tell you is which cabin. $4,326 is the entry fare, and on a river ship that is typically the lowest deck with a fixed window rather than a balcony. If the cabin matters more to you than the fare, this number is not your number.
A cold March pushes everything back a fortnight, and the cruise does not move with it.
What’s not in the number
Air, unless you take the waiver. Port charges. Gratuities. Drinks outside dinner. Transfers. The listing is silent on all of them, and silence is not inclusion.
One oddity is worth flagging: the feed classifies this as an ocean cruise. Belgium, the Netherlands and Keukenhof are a river itinerary — no crossing, no sea day. It does not change the price, but it changes what you should expect the ship to be, and it is a reason to read the operator’s page rather than the feed’s category.
Then there is the bloom. Keukenhof’s dates are set by the garden, not the cruise line, and a cold March pushes everything back a fortnight. Book the departure in the middle of the season rather than the first or last of it, and accept that no fare buys you the flowers at their peak.
The break-even
The break-even is the flight. A return to Amsterdam in April is neither cheap nor getting cheaper. If the air waiver covers a fare you would otherwise pay more than $1,500 for, take it; otherwise take the cash.
The second break-even is time. April 2027 is seven months out: long enough to be a considered booking, short enough that the good cabins on the mid-season departure go before you decide.
